Julia Hassard, Co-Director & Communication Designer - 2023 to 2024
Julia Hassard is a communication designer based in Bakersfield, CA and received their B.A. from California State University, Northridge. Her focus is on transforming digital spaces that are accessible and creating clear graphic communication for all. Their goal is to make sure everyone’s experience on the world wide web and the products individuals see and use function to the best of their ability. View Julia’s work here.

Jared Haug, Founder & Co-Director - 2016 to 2025
Jared is an artist and educator living in Bakersfield, CA. Haug is a founding member of Ditch Projects in Springfield, OR. Previous exhibitions include Rocksbox (Portland, OR), Grammar Center (Medford, OR), Human Resources (Los Angeles, CA), The Holland Project (Reno, NV) and Buoy (Kittery, ME). Baxter Koziol, Co-Director - 2017 to 2025
Baxter lived in Shushan, NY
and held an MFA from Yale School of Art. Previous exhibitions include Center for Maine Contemporary Art (Rockland, ME) Boston University Galleries (Boston, MA), the Everhart Museum (Scranton, PA), and SADE Gallery (Los Angeles, CA). He attended the Yale University Norfolk Summer School of Art (Norfolk, CT) in 2016, Hewnoaks Artist Colony (Lovell, ME) and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture (Skowhegan, ME) in 2017, and the Monson Arts Residency (Monson, ME) in 2019.  Koziol’s artwork can be viewed here.

Sydney Sanchez - Co-Director & Community Engagement Director - 2023 to 2024
Sydney Sanchez is a studio artist based in Bakersfield, CA. A former CSUB graduate, she creates textile-based abstract artworks, employing techniques such as embroidery, punch needle, felting, and other fiber arts. In addition to her work with Border Patrol, Sydney is an avid baker and is currently applying for graduate school. You can view Sydney's work here.

Elizabeth Spavento, Founder & Co-Director - 2016 to 2025
Elizabeth is a curator and artist living in Bakersfield, CA and Buffalo, NY. From 2016 - 2019 she served as the Visual Arts Programmer at SPACE in Portland, ME. Previous curatorial projects include exhibitions at Disjecta Contemporary Art Center (Portland, OR), Open Source Gallery (New York, NY), and Interstitial (Seattle, WA). Spavento co-curated ALL RISE with Meagan Atiyeh, a two-year temporary public art program for a 90,000 sq. ft. gravel lot in downtown Seattle. Americans for the Arts Public Art Network recognized ALL RISE as one of the nation's outstanding public art projects created in 2015 and again in 2016. Spavento's work can be viewed  here.

Manda Vasquez, Co-Director and Photographer - 2023 to 2024

Manda is an artist living in Bakersfield, CA. Manda’s first solo exhibition, Destruction of Construction, took place at the Ketterel Gallery at California State University at Bakersfield in 2022. They also release electronic and hyper-pop music under the producer HOA on all streaming platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify, and SoundCloud. As a side project Manda also works in collaborations through photography to document standard portraiture and commercial events. You can view Manda’s work here.
