Brundage Swap Meet Coloring Book Open Call

Border Patrol is seeking submissions for a coloring book that we will print at our location in the Brundage Swap Meet in Bakersfield, CA. Artists of all ages are eligible to apply. While there is no prescribed theme, we kindly request all submissions be family friendly. All submissions must be original work, but they do not have to be recent.

Requirements:

• Submit a line drawing that someone else will color in (our preference) or a finished drawing of your own on a sheet of 8.5 x 11 in. paper
  
• Include your name, age, contact info (cell phone or email), zip code, and marketing information (your website, social media handles etc.) Please tell us something about your work. 
• Digital drawings that can be printed on paper or a scanned/photographed copy of an original drawing will be accepted.
• The left margin should be set a minimum of one inch from the edge of the paper to accommodate binding.
• Artists who wish to be credited should sign the front of the image.

FAQ

How many drawings can I submit?
Artists can submit as many drawings as they would like for the coloring book. Each artist is guaranteed to have one drawing minimum included in the final copy. 

Will my drawing make it to the final copy?
While all applications will be accepted, Border Patrol reserves the right to omit any drawings that feature content that goes against our community guidelines. Since this is a youth-centered project, the content should be age appropriate.

When will the coloring book be ready?
Free copies of the coloring book will be made available to the public beginning on Friday May 3rd. Visit our gallery at spaces K4 &K5 at the Brundage Swap Meet located at 2207 Brundage  Lane in downtown Bakersfield to pick up your copy, or email us for more information.

I draw on an ipad instead of paper. Can I still submit?
Yes! As long as your digital drawing can be printed on paper, we will accept your submission.

Is there an age limit for who can submit?
This project is youth-centered, so artists ages 18 and younger are eligible to submit a drawing to the coloring book.
